Assistant Budget Director (Operating) | Up to $129,247/annually

This position has the flexibility to telework, work a hybrid schedule, or work in the office. The incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. The incumbent may be expected to work in the office on occasion.
Our Assistant Budget Director (Operating) position serves as one of two Assistant Budget Directors for the department, focused primarily on the operating budget. The responsibilities for this position include:
· Managing and directing all aspects in the development of the agency’s biennial and supplemental operating budgets and the communication thereof to the legislature, leading the implementation of the department’s operating budget, and overseeing fiscal policy and planning for the agency.
· Incumbent provides direction and vision along with day-to-day supervision of the Fiscal Support and Budget units.
· Units support the efforts listed above plus the following:
o Conducting financial analysis and reporting, coordinating the fiscal note process
o Overseeing the preparation of DOT fund statements including facilitating the twice-annual forecasting process
o Preparing the agency's formal revenue and fund balance projections.
· Directly assists the CFO, Controller, and budget director in all respects of the department’s budgetary, financial planning and preparation of policy options involving finance for the Commissioner, senior staff, and external partners such as legislature, Governor’s office and Minnesota Management and Budget.

Here are the minimum qualifications:
Two years of managerial experience OR three years of professional supervisory experience OR four years of advanced professional experience that demonstrates the following:
